Project Canyon Safe. Cleaned 9 acres along the canyon rim with 114 volunteers, including both civilians and firemen. Kevin organized a citizen effort to partner with the fire department, the California conservation corps, and volunteer weedwhacking and chipping businesses to clear brush and prevent another devastating wildfire.

Addressing the Fire Danger. As Chairman of the Greater Auburn Area Fire Safe Council, I helped enact a historic agreement between the City of Auburn and the federal Bureau of Reclamation that will enable us to clear wood fuel from the American River Canyon. This action combined with the enactment of an up-to-date defensible space and fire code will give an opportunity to prevent a catastrophic fire in our town.

Balancing Auburn's Budget. Crafted 8 balanced budgets in a row for the city and maintained a budget reserve of more than $2 million for emergency purposes. I review every single check written by city officials to ensure that we don't waste taxpayer dollars.

Preventing Eminent Domain Abuse. Local governments should use the power of eminent domain as a last resort and only public projects like building a new firehouse or police station. However, too often local governments have used the power of eminent domain to take the homes of their residents and the property of small business owners and turn them over to a large developer. This is a wrong and an abuse of government power. I led the fight to enact one of the best local ordinances in California, which prohibits the City of Auburn from using the power of eminent domain against residents and business owners in such an abuse way.

Auburn's Central Square. We have created a beautiful new Central Square in Downtown with 200 spots for outdoor café dining, a fire pit, and pedestals to display Auburn's rich and interesting history.

Auburn's New Park. For decades, many long-time Auburn residents have wanted a new park on the 4.3 acre property between City Hall and Placer High School. We worked with numerous entities and volunteers and raised millions of dollars to restore the historic Cooper Amphitheater, restore Rich Ravine creek and create a beautiful park this and future generations.

A Triple Win for Auburn. I assisted in crafting a contract that will use of solar power at our wastewater treatment plant. It's a triple win for Auburn. First, it is estimated that the contract will save Auburn sewer rate payers $1.3 million over 10 years. Second, solar power provides a clean energy source and is good for our environment. Third, we contracted with an Auburn contractor that will provide local jobs.

Sierra Nevada Conservancy Headquarters. I led the effort to win the competition among 8 other cities to locate the Sierra Nevada Conservancy headquarters in Auburn. This is a feather in Auburn's cap!
